Great news, Universe S5 proprietors on Verizon, your phone is finally getting… wait another. Did not we already publish this story? Hold on a minute, I will be back.

This is what happens when you search for “samsung update” on Android Police.

Still here? Good, since i found this story from in early Feb, which clearly mentioned that Verizon’s form of the Samsung Universe S5 had been being updated to Android 5.. Also is happening today, nearly two several weeks later. Apparently Verizon pulled the initial update, software version G900VVRU1BNLC, although the reason is not obvious. The brand new version beginning its rollout today is G900VVRU1BOC4.

Verizon’s update notice does not mention anything different – it appears as though the only real factor that’s altered between Feb and today may be the software version number. However, lots of people who taken care of immediately Engadget’s story around the original update reported some severe bugs, including crashing apps and rapid battery drain. The Feb release was uncharacteristically fast for any Verizon Samsung device – maybe someone by having an admirable need to please customers leaped the gun and missed a couple of important problems within the testing phase.

In almost any situation, Android 5. has become readily available for all Universe S5 units on Verizon. Expect when the rollout takes a few days to get at you if you are impatient, look into the usual user forums to find out if someone has submitted the apply for a handbook flash.
